We are absolutely thrilled to announce we have received a generous grant of £15,128 from The National Lottery Community Fund's Awards for All programme! This funding will enable us to deliver a year-long programme of exciting, educational and planet-friendly activities for families - every month - at our Sustainability & STEAM Village in The Plot.
The grant will specifically support the delivery of regular Science, Technology, Engineering, Art & Maths (STEAM) Stay & Play sessions for families, as well as our Swap & Shop events, which provide local people with the opportunity to exchange clothes, shoes, and other items. We intend to support more people facing challenges because of the cost of living crisis, to bring people together and provide children with access to enriching educational and fun experiences to help them fulfil their potential.
The first of these newly funded events will take place on Saturday 8th February 2025, with fun-filled STEAM Stay & Play Sessions for families. Spaces in these sessions are very popular and booking is essential. Future sessions will continue to encourage creativity and learning, helping young people and their families in the local area to explore a wide range of STEAM subjects together, in a hands-on, interactive way.
“We are absolutely delighted to have been awarded this funding from The National Lottery Community Fund,” said Mel Tucker, Director, “It will allow us to provide valuable support to families in Stonehouse, giving them access to creative educational activities, sustainable, affordable clothing, and strengthening our beautiful community. We’re all so excited to begin these sessions and look forward to seeing the positive impact they’ll have.”
