It Takes a Village Plymouth CIC
About Us
It Takes a Village Plymouth CIC is a social enterprise, powered by a small group of mums, social entrepreneurs, educators, community builders, cheerleaders and friends.

We believe that it really DOES take a village to raise a child and we want to help ensure that families in our community have that village around them.

We are creating a Sustainable Family Support and STEAM Discovery Village in the heart of Plymouth, where families can connect through STEAM activities and workshops, and access services, support, clothing, books and stuff they need.

Our Sustainable Family Support & STEAM Discovery Village will make a positive difference to people, the community & the environment in 3 ways:

-
STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art & maths): providing quality, creative, inspiring & fun STEAM-based learning experiences, through children’s workshops and family Stay & Play sessions, in an area that has very limited provision.
-
SUSTAINABILITY: running regular clothes swap & shop events, giving our community access to affordable, sustainable clothes and goods that they need. Helping people to tackle both the Cost of Living Crisis and the Climate Crisis.
-
SUPPORT: providing a safe, supportive environment in the community, run events & work in partnership with other local organisations supporting our community.
